With the third of my Palestinian crime novels, I wanted to address the little-known world of the Samaritans, remnants of the people mentioned by Jesus in his parable of the Good Samaritan. I also wanted to use as a location for most of the plot my favorite place in the West Bank -- the murky alleys of the ancient casbah in Nablus. That's where much of this novel takes place.
